Guwahati Eye Centre (GEC) is a multi speciality eye care hospital located in the heart of the city at Rajgarh Road (Meenakshi Bhavan).It has been established as the new and bigger branch of Guwahati Eye Hospital founded by late Dr S N Kalita in 1990.The centre is spread out across 9000 square feet being equipped with four state of the art OTs alongwith the latest investigative and laser facilities. It has a group of widely experienced doctors specialized in cataract surgery, retinal laser and surgery, glaucoma, occuloplasty and other specialities.

Patients can avail cashless facility for various eye surgeries and procedures as the hospital is associated with a large number of insurance companies.

Guwahati Eye Cente (GEC) has a strong community eye department organizing camps in both rural and urban areas and performing free cataract surgeries for under privileged patients. Patients having Ayushman Bharat card can avail surgical facilities and treatment at Guwahati Eye Centre(GEC) under the PMJAY scheme.
